Top of a very complicated Nissan/Datsun range throughout the seventies, and with a damned silly name. Cedric was a 15ft 4ins 'flagship', of typical Japanese/American layout, on 110ins wheelbase. In spite of massive domestic range of engines, sold in Britain only as a 260C, with 140bhp (gross) 2.6-litre engine, like 260Z coupé unit.

During its initial run as a Nissan brand, Datsun was the name used for production cars while Nissan was mainly used for trucks, although the Nissan Cedric and other Nissan branded models did make it to international markets. It is a 1969 Datsun 2300 Super Six and was owned by three generations of the same family from new until I purchased the car this year. It still features most of the original paint (be it very faded), interior, engine and trans. The original 1966 130 Cedric was designed by Pininfarina, but this Mark 4 130 was redesigned in house by Nissan.
